Heirloom Claremont has saved my butt countless times. How often I would put off shopping until the last minute, knowing, in the back of my mind, Heirloom always has the perfect gift.
In all seriousness, I think we’re at 10 for 10. Each gift was so special and far better than any other ideas I might of had.
And that’s the genius of this boutique shop- nestled in the heart of one of the cutest towns in Southern Claifornia, Heirloom is one of it’s shiniest pearls. Whoever shops for this place is a genius. Nothing is typical or mundane. The stock cycles through quickly, so every visit is sure to unveil a new local artisan or progressive card company.
They have everything from one-of-a-kind, handmade jewelry to Quotables cards & mugs (my favorite stand-by). You can find something practical or something outrageous. Just count on it probably not being there long. I speak from experience.
Now, that’s just the basic premise of the store. Heirloom Claremont is so much more. It’s so suportive of the local art community that it not only sells their work, but they allow artisans to use the work-shop at the back of the store, where the owner holds public work-shops. I hear he specializes in unique bottle-lights, which they sell (and they are to die for), but he’s kind enough to teach others how to build them, as well. They hold other classes as well- from building to shaking cocktails. I walked by one night, when they were holding a private class, and I was jealous– glasses of wine, laughing, they were having my ideal night!
Heirloom is like that, though, it won’t just satisfy your shopping list, it will inspire you to maybe be a little more bold, or laugh a little louder, or become an artist, or start journaling…whatever. This place is special.
Definately check out Heirloom Claremont, as soon as possible. They have this eggs-and-bacon necklace set that I know you want. I guess you could just go to the Heirloom website, but you wouldn’t see the tin roof, on the work-shop, or the tree-with-branches over the children’s area, well, not without this little photo gallery. Enjoy and try to soak up the inspiration.
