It’s an adorable but awkward stand-off between Percy and Cliff. Percy stands outside staring at Cliff until he leaves. Every once in a while he will urge Cliff to leave, like in this cute photo gallery.
Cliff knows Percy loves his “new place”, and I think he humors him, letting him dominate the kitty residence. And does he, ever. Percy can sleep nestled inside, for hours. He really thinks it’s his own.
He thinks it’s his, only.
The thing is, Cliff Tarpey just humors him, he knows it’s his, too. And he really loves jumping on top to stretch his claws on the wicker top. He will do it even if Percy is inside. Percy freaks out – of coarse. He runs off, allowing Cliff to quietly slip inside.
Percy always lets Cliff have it, however briefly. Cliff will hang out, inside, for a while – like some one house-sitting. It’s just that Percy sees him as an unwanted house guest. Pretty much immediately. They love each other, they are besties, they know how to share – and they both seem happy to share this cat condo. It’s just that Percy can only barely tolerate it, seeing Cliff Tarpey as an unwelcome guest, subconsciously.
So, he will pace around the room – never far from his condo. He will even stand directly in front, meowing at Cliff.
Cliff does not even care. He peacefully relaxes, and stays as long as he wants to stay – I mean, what’s Percy going to do? Cliff Tarpey probably sees Percy as the unwanted house guest, at his cat condo.
You know, that he sublets to Percy.
